History of establishment

Chair of the JSSAR: Egawa
Having worked at the Japanese Saturday School Amsterdam for 36 years, I felt it was my mission to establish a reunion after I retired.
I myself have been involved in reunion activities since my student days, and I have found that the network has been extremely helpful in finding employment and exchanging information.
Given this background, I wanted to continue to maintain connections through reunion at this school.
History of establishment
After retiring in 2021, I took time to sort out my personal life and began planning for 2025.
We held numerous meetings and made preparations in cooperation with Ms. Yoshino, the former head of the junior high school department, and my daughters and Ms. Yoshino's sons, who were students at the Japanese Saturday School Amsterdam.
In addition, Ms. Suzuki from JCC, who made a significant contribution to the 25th anniversary festival, joined us as a
volunteer executive committee member.
JSSAR's Vision
We hope to contribute to the future of Japanese and Dutch society with the knowledge we have gained from our diverse educational and cultural experiences about multilingual and multicultural societies.
JSSAR's Mission
1. To provide a regular and sustainable forum for people who have spent time at JSSA to interact with each other and exchange information and mutual assistance.
2. To further develop the Japanese language community, while also reaffirming our mutual connection with Japanese society.
